6 Ways to Respect the Island

Take your trash with you. Help keep the island clean by properly disposing of your trash and taking it with you when you leave. Leave no trace behind .

 

Use reef-safe sunscreen. Protect our precious coral reefs by using reef-safe sunscreen products that do not contain harmful chemicals. Look for sunscreen labeled “reef-safe” or “oxybenzone-free”.

 

Practice responsible snorkeling and diving. Keep a safe distance from marine life and coral reefs while exploring the underwater world. Avoid touching or disturbing marine creatures and their habitats. 

 

Respect the local culture. Take the time to learn about Hawaiian customs, traditions, and etiquette. Show respect for the local culture.

 

Support local businesses. Contribute to the local economy and sustainable tourism by supporting local businesses, artisans, and farmers. Explore the unique offerings of the island and help preserve its authentic charm.
